The Canada Innovation Fund

The Canada Innovation Fund is a Canadian initiative designed to accelerate research innovation and drive forward to make the greatest positive impact. Through our combined efforts, we aim to raise $1 million to help mobilize Bar-Ilan’s finest scientific minds. By providing support to the university’s interdisciplinary research groups and departments, the CIF will help Bar-Ilan provide answers to some of the greatest challenges facing Israel and the entire world.

Modern Architecture

How it Works:

Bar-Ilan University has requested that Canadian supporters focus on four critical areas for Israel and the Jewish Nation: Energy Security, Brain & Health Sciences, STEM, and Jewish studies. You may choose to direct your gift to a specific project or to the fund’s highest-priority-needs.

“Adding a post-doc Fellow to a laboratory is like adding a supercharger to a jet engine. By supporting the work of a post-doc Fellow, our donors allow us to reach heights unseen in Israel or anywhere.”

- Prof Eitan Okun, Head of Paul Feder Alzheimer’s Lab

Israel Energy Security Fund

Center for Energy and Sustainability (CES), an interdisciplinary research and development enterprise launched this past year, is Bar-Ilan’s answer to the complexity and interconnectedness of the world’s environmental challenges. With more than 50 research groups drawn from Bar-Ilan’s exact, life, medical, law, engineering, and social-sciences faculties, CES harnesses the strengths of the entire University into integrated and effective solutions for the range of problems caused by climate change.

Brain & Health Sciences Fund

The Leslie and Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center at Bar-Ilan University brings together researchers in a variety of fields which are essential to understanding the brain, including psychology, physics, linguistics, computing, and biology. Additionally, the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine is training the next generation of physicians and researchers to tackle the greatest health challenges of the 21st century. Selected from all of Israel’s universities to house Israel’s National Genome Bank, Bar-Ilan is quickly developing into Israel’s centre of personalized medicine.

STEM Fund

At Bar-Ilan, we think BIG about STEM. Our students operate under the notion that they have the singular ability to not only to study but also to change the world in which we live. Created in 2001, Bar-Ilan’s Kofkin Faculty of Engineering stands at the forefront of science in researching and applying state-of-the-art technology and is considered amongst the best in Israel. Furnished with the latest technologies, students have access to the world’s most advanced laboratories equipped with best-in-class innovations: an imaging and super-resolution lab, a robotics lab, an integrated circuits and VLS lab, a nano-electronics lab, and hardware defense and speech processing labs – the only ones of their kind in Israel.

tomorrow, today

Fund for Israel & The Jewish Nation

As Israel approaches its 75th anniversary, Israelis and diaspora Jewry are facing new challenges. From the protection of the State from new threats such as cyberwarfare and energy dependence, to the preservation of the Hebrew language, and the education of the next generation of Jewish leaders, we know that a viable Jewish future depends on our actions today. From our award-winning Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA), to the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology, Israel and Golda Koschitzky Department of Jewish history, to the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education, Bar-Ilan researchers are developing new technologies, tools, and strategies to ensure not only that Israel remains a leader among nations but also that the Jewish people continue to serve as a “light among nations.”
