Canadian Friends of Bar-Ilan University Announces Harold Spring to Chair, Board of Directors


Canadian Friends of Bar-Ilan University is delighted to announce the

appointment of Harold Spring as Chair of its Board of Directors. Spring is a successful Toronto real estate entrepreneur and developer who has also served in a number of important roles for the Jewish community. Formerly, he served as Chairman of the Board, Shaarei Shomayim Congregation, Chairman Israel

Bonds Toronto, Vice President Toronto Red Cross, Co-chairman Professional Division UJA. Spring is also a longtime supporter and advisor to Toronto Chabad’s Rabbi Grossbaum along with being a member of Dynasty Partners, an alliance of the

world’s most successful families and Jewish leaders collaborating together to maximize social impact.


“I am deeply honoured to follow so many great leaders who have taken on

this responsibility over the years and helped Bar-Ilan grow into what it is

now, Israel’s second largest academic institution of higher learning,” says

Spring. “Together with the Board and our leadership team, I really want to

help make a lasting impact at this special university, which is training the

next generation of Zionist leaders, and whose goals and philosophies are

intentionally aligned with the State of Israel.”



“Harold’s long history of business leadership, coupled with his

entrepreneurial spirit and experience in building relationships makes him an

ideal person for this role,” said Jonathan Ain, CEO of Canadian Friends of

Bar-Ilan University. “I look forward to working closely with him to advance

the organization’s fundraising goals while continuing to raise the bar in

everything we do.”
